The Abortion Debate

How could you hurt a child? Does this make you satisfied, knowing
that you have killed the future? I believe that abortion is a
mortal sin. I believe that killing is wrong, unborn or not.
Abortions can take anywhere from twelve minutes to two hours
During this time the unborn human undergoes agonizing pain. Pain
can be felt by the unborn between the eighth and tenth week of
life in the womb. Most abortions take place during the thirtieth
week of pregnancy. It is fair to say the unborn is put through
unearthly pain. "Medical science doctors confirm that when the
lives of the unborn are snuffed out, they often feel pain, pain
that this long and agonizing." Ronald Reagan stated publicly his
opinion of the killing of the unborn. The pain that the unborn
human child goes through is inhuman; the unborn suffers because
of the choice of the parents.
Dr. Bernard Nathanson, a former abortionist, filmed an abortion
out of curiosity to see the facial expressions and to see if the
unborn could feel pain. The twelve week old girl that he filmed,
twisted in horror as the first instrument tried to invade her
sanctuary. As the knife-like tube ripped apart her arms and legs,
piece by piece, the unborn human child writhed in agony, living
through most of the process. Dr. Nathanson saw with his own eyes
her head throw back and her tiny mouth open in what he called
"her silent scream." Lastly, he witnessed the ghastly outline
of the forceps searching to locate the head to crush because it
was too big to be removed through the suction tubing. This killing
process took twelve to fifteen minutes. When Dr. Nathanson saw
the film, he left the clinic and did not return.
When killing takes place in our society, punishment takes place.
Yet when a small child is burnt or sucked up a tube by an abortionist,
neither the abortionist nor the parents are punished for their
mortal sin. In choosing to kill your own unborn child, you kill
a piece of yourself. A piece that you will never duplicate or
regain. How can you kill your own flesh and blood?
